Meandergroep Zuid-Limburg, The Netherlands

Jack Jansen started his career as a nurse. He obtained his Master’s degree in Public Administration (MSc) and Strategic Management (MBA). After his studies, he held various management and board positions in hospitals and an elderly care organization, before joining MeanderGroep Zuid-Limburg as Chairman of the Board of Directors. “For me, the diversity of this organization is an attractive challenge. Intra- and extramural, with different disciplines, different groups of clients and residents of all ages. And therefore also different types of employees. I strongly believe it is very important that the happiness of both employees and clients gets our attention every day.”

MeanderGroep is the most complete provider of healthcare in the Parkstad region, in the province of Limburg, The Netherlands. With more than 5000 employees, MeanderGroep is also one of the largest employers in the region. Two years in a row, 2017/2018 and 2018/2019, MeanderGroep was elected as Most Attractive Employer of Limburg. Every year more than 20,000 residents of Parkstad are being given the care and attention they need. MeanderGroep is a large organization, active in the intramural (nursing and care homes) and extramural (at the client's home) care, paramedical and preventive services, with a total package of (social) services. In addition to that, Meander has more than 45,000 subscribers in Meander Extra, its service organization that focuses on vitality and well-being. Although MeanderGroep is a large provider of healthcare and well-being, it has organized its services on a small scale, including neighborhood-oriented home care teams and small-scale living for people with dementia.
