María José Mendieta is an Ecuadorian Medical doctor, with a Master of Science in Vitality and Ageing and a Master of Public Health. She is interested in public health research, especially oriented to older population and health promotion. She has experience developing public health policies in the Ministry of Health of Ecuador. She is part of the INSPIRE team within the TRANS-SENIOR program. She will be working under supervision of Mieke Deschodt and Sabina De Geest at the University of Basel and under the supervision of Geert Goderis at KU Leuven. The topic of her PhD project is 'Implementing INSPIRE, an integrated community-based care program for senior citizens' and you can find more information about it here.
